hi, I’m Alessandra

He wrote the plot twist. I wrote the ending.

I’m a mom, the founder of Mama’s Guide to Divorce, and a woman who got blindsided and kept going. Expect real talk, a lot of sass, and posts that’ll make you laugh on the days you didn’t think you could.

My story

The short version

I didn’t set out to become anybody’s guide to divorce. I set out to be married. I had the family, the routines, the whole future mapped out. Then the life I thought I was living turned out not to be the one I was actually in.

My divorce wasn’t my idea. It came with betrayal, a blindside, and a lot of nights where I didn’t know how I’d make it to morning. I cried in the car so my kids wouldn’t see. I replayed every conversation looking for the moment I missed. I Googled things at 2am that no woman should ever have to Google.

And then, slowly, I got up.

There was no big breakthrough. There were small, stubborn choices. I leaned on my faith. I leaned on the friends who showed up and stayed. And every single day I made the same decision: this was not going to make me bitter.

So I started posting what I wished someone had told me the day he left, plus the stuff that made me laugh when nothing else could. Women started writing back. Now more than 600,000 of you follow along, and every guide, journal and post here comes from what actually helped me.

the whole philosophy

Not bitter. Better.

You can be completely honest about what he did and still build a life that has nothing to do with him.

Some days you need a plan. Some days you need to laugh at how ridiculous this all is. I post for both.

Lived experience

I’m not a therapist, a lawyer or a coach. I’m a woman who went through it and figured out what helps. When you need a professional, I’ll tell you to go get one.
